Amerigo Vespucci was born in Florence, Italy in 1454 and he Died on 22 Feb 1512 in Seville, Spain . He was the son of a respectable public clerk. He studied with his uncle many subjects. His family connections got him to work as a businessman in Spain. Amerigo Vespucci helped to prepare ships for two of Christopher Columbus' voyages, he met Columbus. He was one of the 1st one to reach South America and North America and they were named after him in 1507. He got recognized when a German cartographer (mapmaker) read his diary. Amerigo Vespucci’s uncle was in charge of his education. Amerigo Vespucci took slaves on his voyages. Best known as: The explorer after whom the Americas are named. In 1491 Amerigo went to Seville, Spain for a trading business. On Amerigo first voyage he explored the northern coast of South America and the Amazon. Amerigo was working for local bankers.
